The people whose names are on the work.

Several of them wrote the stories on this site. That is deliberate — if an engineer is willing to put their name on an account of a programme, including the parts that went wrong, you learn something about how the company works.

Architect of the Aegis triplex design and the person who insisted the Meridian processing core sit behind a hard interface boundary. That decision saved a constellation programme nine years later.

Runs part selection and radiation qualification across Helios-RH and Thermion. Has sat through more beam time than anyone else in the building and will tell you derating is not a substitute for it.

Leads integration on the iron-bird rig. Responsible for the fault-injection campaign that every Aegis build has to pass before it goes near an aircraft.

Nuclear instrumentation and radiometrics. Led the flux channel rebuild that found eleven years of drift in a cable penetration nobody had looked at since commissioning.

02 — How we are organised

Executive leadership

Strategic direction, and accountability for the fact that every project reflects the quality standard we claim.

Engineering

Avionics, radiation effects, instrumentation, propulsion control and integration. Average tenure nine years.

Verification and certification

Deliberately independent of the design teams, with the authority to reject. An organisation chart is not independence.

Programme and support

Planning, supply chain, obsolescence and the people who keep a twenty-year fleet dispatchable.

03 — Working here

We hire slowly and keep people for a long time.

Average tenure is nine years. On programmes that run for two decades that is not a perk, it is a technical requirement — the person who wrote the requirement should still be reachable when somebody questions it in year eight.

We do not run a graduate intake scheme or a permanent careers pipeline. When we need someone we say so, and we would rather wait for the right person than fill a seat.
